                                                        Mini 7’s

On Thursday the 8th of October, 2015, 10 girls from Newcastle School went to Coolarne pitch to play camogie in the Mini 7’s.There was three groups with three teams. In our group there was Lisheenkyle, Crumlin and Newcastle. The blitz started at 10: 30 am. First of all we played Crumlin. We beat them 6 goals to 2. And that brought us to the next match – Lisheenkyle!
Lisheenkyle was probably the hardest match of the day – they pushed us to the limit. The players were just as good as us but our players were trying their best and the match went back and forth. We held them off in the end though and won. We were delighted! The score was 2-2 to 2 goals.
Then we played Carnaun. They were tough too! They had some good midfielders but our backs held strong and we got it up the field. The final score was 6-1 to 1-0. Another win!! That meant we were in the FINAL!!!!!
It was intense. We never played a game like it and the nerves almost got to us. We didn’t have much experience in playing Monivea and their midfielders were very good. But……..
We  WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The final score was 8-2 to 2-0. we were welcomed back by an arch of hurls and the very happy school pupils and teachers.
                          We had a brilliant day.
