5th and 6th Class Simon Community Appeal 2016

Thank you for your generosity to our appeal to help the Simon Community. Last year there were 6 homeless families in Galway. This year there are 64. That is a huge increase. To help  them, 5th and 6th class gathered up lots of food, toileteries, toys and clothes. Thank you to the very generous parents of Newcastle for your generosity for such a worthy cause. Thank  you to Denise Rabbitte for giving Ms Treacy the idea. Thank you to 5th and 6th class for all their work in sorting out the items into categories. Thank you to Olivia Morris for coming to the rescue as all the stuff would not fit in Denise's car! This appeal is what Christmas is all about so well done to all involved. We hope to make the homeless people of Galway more comfortable this Christmas!

Digital School of Distinction

More fantastic news for the pupils and staff of Newcastle. We have received a 'Digital School  of Distinction Award'. Read the report on our success by clicking on the link below.

WOW!!!

W had a very special 'Star Student' today in school. A member of  4th class entered a competition where he had to name his favourite ladies footballer. He of course picked the superb Cora Staunton and won the competition. Now, as a reward for his endeavours, he has won a training session with Cora for his whole class. But theres more, he also won a free voucher from sketchers for each person in 4th class. He was the most popular man in school today. Cora should be arriving in school for the training session and with the vouchers early in the school year.
Well done again to all of 4th class.

Our Fantastic Altar servers

This morning Treasa and Michael came in to us at assembly. Treasa and Michael wanted to give a small gift to the boys and girls who serve at Mass .They gave us a Mars selection box each for being so respectful in the church .Treasa said “it`s not the size of the gift it’s how it’s given to you”

Thank you Michael and Teresa for coming in to us and for your generosity towards us.

Using Interactive whiteboard

To help us in our learning we use the interactive whiteboard daily to complete tasks in all subjects. The pictures below show pupils working on maths, English and Irish.
